Volutes

While working through wave configurations in the Flux Metal Drape system, Moore found that certain arrangements caused the surface to fold back on itself — a scroll, a peel, a spiral arrested mid-motion. Each work is a rippling aluminum surface that curls inward, forming a concealed interior from which light emerges indirectly, diffused through internal reflection. In plan, the works carry the inward spiral of classical ornament. In elevation, their stacked rhythms echo the vertical cadence of Art Deco.
